My first flight in GRB General handling Very light on the controls, particularly in roll. Useful trim range. Flies very stably hands off. High speed flight, very stable and quiet.Spining - predictible in entry and recovery. Dive Brakes Powerful but without needing heavy pressure on the control lever. Thermaling Easy to centre in thermals and stays centred for best rate of climb. Seating position. Very comfortable, with good leg room. Visibility. Excellent from the frontseat. I didn't try the back. Ground Handling. Very easy to manoeuvre since it balances on the main wheel. Training Capability. Suitable for clear demonstration of all training exercises, including spinning. A delight to fly. Will make instructing a pleasure forboth student and instructor. Kevin Saunders GCWA Chief Flying Instructor Tuesday, September 04.2007 ---------------------------------------------------- During the purchase of the PW6 the Gliding Club of Western Australia had first class service from the agent John Roake. I was more than delighted with the handling and comfort of the PW6, she handled like a single seater even with two up, the stick controls were very light. Of particular note was that I could feel the air we were flying through very well and I am sure this will be of great help when training students to fly thermals by feel. James Cooper. Club President and State Coach. ------------------------------------------------------- Bref report on "Pee Wee" as requested Flight: PW-6U flew Sunday afternoon, I had the chance to fly it after initial evaluation flight by Kevin Saunders, and I have to say it's a pleasure to fly, sweet controls just like a single seater, can put it on its ear in a thermal, goes where you want it, and does not seem to fall out of the air at 90 kts, in fact I was very impressed. Maintenance / Construction The construction of the PW-6U appears to be conventional in all regards. Glass work materials and finish is good and compares favourably with other gliders from this part of the world. Hardware and fittings are simple and well made using the same control quick connects as the Jantar range, regular maintenance is easy due to access panels in the wings and relative simplicity of control systems, The only job I found tedious was the removal and reinstallation of the nose release which is a 2 man job. The paint finish is average and is probably an area that could be improved, due to a couple of small imperfections in the finish. In conclusion I think the PW-6U will be a good asset to the club both in Abinito and cross country training Chris Runeckles Universal Plastics
